NAPKIN WORDS #56 2011 - Dedicated to Mike Prevor
1. IF IT’S A COOL IDEA-FREEZE IT
You will never stay clean, if you stroll with
ideas made of ice, in the burning heat of
summer, and don’t expect them to drip!
2. A FUNNY THING
For a second, I thought I heard time asking.
Yet when I looked at my watch, it had
suddenly stopped. When I looked again, a
short second later, it was working, telling
the moment.
The moral of this: Never question the
movement of time in a second!
3. THE TRYING
We should, and in fact must, try to be all
things to as many people as possible.
Our sadness should be for those times that
we could have and we were not.
What we should do are major things, not just
minor things.
It is up to us to insure that most people end
up saying, “That person proved to be all
things that I could want in another person!”
4. THE DRINKING GLASS TELLS OTHERS
From comments that I have heard, from both
family and friends, it seems that most people
judge me as a drinker.
What an odd and funny title.
In truth, all I do is drink to think, think to
write.
When thought is done, I leave wherever I am
as a whisper, never drunk, just satisfied!
5. WHAT I WISH HISTORY WOULD SAY
I want history to say that in his lifetime, if you
ran into him, you met someone who truly was
kind.
If your need was love, he loved.
If you needed protection, he protected.
If you were afraid, he taught you how to be
brave, how to face your fears.
If your heart was broken, so was his. His
tears were real, he felt your pain.
The important thing is to insure that these are
not said until he is gone. Remember that tyrants
begin as people being praised for doing good!
WAY OF LIFE CIRCLE
Every day is an excuse
for tomorrow
if you live it
well.
Night is that moment
when you see,
question,
its deepest
insights.
Its possibilities.
Its quandaries.
Answers
are given,
a great
reason to
rise!
