NAPKIN WORDS #45 2011 - Dedicated to Mike Prevor

1. IN THE KILN OF LIFE
A million bricks means you have just constructed
the basement.

Life takes an awful lot of building, so erect it
wisely, put it upon foundations of love!

2. ON THE ROAD OF A SAGE
If you wish to be wise, think about who you are,
today, instead of being concerned with who you can
be tomorrow.

Before you set out, you first must understand
yourself.

Once that is achieved, wisdom will lead you to who
you can be.

There are always clear signs directing the way!

3. IN THE CLASSROOM OF LIFE
We can be wise towards things.

We can be dumb because of things.

How smart do you wish to be?

Life is not just the teaching, it must include
the learning!

4. FRIENDSHIP
An emotion that ignores time, space, reason,
economics.

What it does pay attention to is the importance
of instinct, that which makes friends!

5. UNDERSTAND
Fate is always near because belief is always close!

6. KNOWING A GREAT LIFE
Having safely avoided that famous pin which holds
butterflies and moths on display!

7. WHAT IS IN A NAME
An enlightened man may still be called a bastard
by a person who is crude.

It does not make the enlightened man any less
enlightened but it make us know a crude person!

8. THINK ABOUT IT
Anybody can make an enemy.

A somebody avoids doing so.

Are you an anybody or a somebody?

The question and the answer are both up to you!

HONEST TREES

In amazement, no,
in awe, I watch
trees
dress, undress
to tunes of seasons.

How bold their
behavior,
neither caring
nor changing
in spite of being viewed.

If a voice they possess,
(I believe they do.)
it would cry their
freedom,
then, not a word more.

For knowingly and in
wisdom,
no speech is needed
for the way they
are.

Naked, dressed, a tree
is enchanting.
Could only I be as honest
as they.
