NAPKIN WORDS #41 2011 - Dedicated to Mike Prevor
1. MAGIC
The affect of your love upon another
soul!
2. A SAD REFRAIN
“Look at us,” we sit knowing the sun
has left the sky.
We are shadows.
“Look at us,” for when we could, we
did not see!
3. THERE ARE NO PARDONS
There are no immunities from the crime
of life.
At our first breath, we are convicted.
At our second breath, we are accomplices.
At our third breath we love, and try to find
happiness. We become those convicts who for
a time, managed to escape.
Between our fourth breath and the Why of
our being: we suffer its punishment.
Knowing at our last breath: We would be freed!
4. REMEMBER
Each and every star would be nothing,
unless we looked, then told others of the
surprise of our wonder!
5. LIFE
That strange interruption of stillness.
A mysterious, colliding, bump into love!
6. WHEN YOU PLAN LIFE IN THE EXTREME
You might miss those marvelous accidents of life!
7. WONDER
Belief lifts weight, disbelief carries it.
Why tote what you and I should never
wish to know?
Ease the burden of life, stroll instead of plodding
along its path.
Your worth is wonder. It is known to
others!
8. FORM OF WISDOM
Like an egg, wisdom is beautiful in shape
and design.
Like an egg, one has to crack it open to
understand its value, obtain its benefits!
ASK YOUR SOUL
Come to childhood you and
I, and do you
remember when all toys were
smiles
laughing at a grin of the
Teddy bear brown?
Ask your soul, is the child’s
wonder
any greater now,
then when we were
young?
Or, have we lost the laughter
of innocence,
simply because we grew,
did we become too old?
