NAPKIN WORDS #38 2011 - Dedicated to Mike Prevor
1. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS
Start with the concept that everything in
life is an impossibility.
Then say, “If I don’t try, then I am a coward.”
Understanding that nothing is ever achieved
without a struggle, that having a belief in
yourself...knowing you can achieve, you can
conquer.
Not others, but surely yourself!
2. IN THE ASYLUM OF LIFE
The only visitor will be today.
Yesterday will go away.
Tomorrow is going to be crazy.
The only escape, the way you entered!
3. EACH DAY IS SPECIAL TO SOMEONE
What happens tomorrow is special.
It is special, because someone, somewhere
accepted the normal, wished it to continue.
That someone could certainly be you!
4. UNDERSTANDING HAPPINESS
We all desire it.
How strange that it occurs to the few instead of
the many.
Why is it that we can study happiness as a subject
in schools, books, television, on the computer, etc.,
and yet so few of us are happy?
It can’t be the possession of money, for each day
we are told of horrific crimes committed by the
rich. Can’t say they are happy, they were caught.
It can’t be fame, witness Martin Sheen.
So I leave you with the question, “What do you
think happiness is?”
I will offer only my response to this question:
For me, through great struggle, I became content.
To me, that is happiness!
5. THE COMPLEMENT OF COMPANIONSHIP
What would night be without the moon against
the darkness of sky, aglitter with starlight?
Then ask, “What would I be without the
complement of you?” Once asked, you will
have all answers, for that is love!
SENSUAL AND SENSES
Flesh tasted, enjoyed,
fades
quickly.
Yet a soul unknown,
once
discovered,
is
the very center
of
what we call
love.
