NAPKIN WORDS #43 2011 - Dedicated to Mike Prevor
1. DEEPER MEANING
In life, each step of understanding at first
is a stumbling block with sharp edges.
Take precautions, carry a balm and some
bandages. Try to be graceful.
After many nicks and scrapes, I assure you,
you will understand the deeper meaning
of life!
2. WILL YOU DO IT
Look deeply at your life which has passed and
then look at yourself today
If you do this, you will certainly do what you
must do in order to be able to look at yourself
each day with a positive attitude.
Life you see, is not your reflection, it is your
image studied by your deeds!
3. THE GARDEN OF YOUR TIME
I beg of you to not bury tomorrow with the
shovel of the past.
Instead, rake it, seed it, and allow it to grow. The
day after tomorrow, it will become a Garden
of Plenty!
4. WITHIN OUR POWER
It is up to each of us to make life more bearable
for one another than just for ourself.
That is well within our power!
5. DEMAND
Of others, make few demands and requests.
Of yourself, go wild, demand the world by
doing what is necessary to accomplish this
task.
It is the easiest assignment you could ever have!
6. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND
A tip must be secondary to service, never primary.
Should the tip be primary, the service will prove
secondary!
7. IN MY WAY OF THINKING
I have always thought it wiser to see others as
wise, than to look to discover fools.
I have not always been successful. Still, the
failures were few and of that I am proud!
8. ORBITS OF THE HEART
Love is an understanding of gravitational pull
in a very romantic way!
BIRTH
An ebony dusking of blue arrived fiercely upon
the dying sky, shutting tightly its trap on daily
light, burning time in its eternal passage.
No night song is heard except breaths inhaling,
exhaling, sighs expectant of life. Expanding of
hope wide with imagination, wise ancient dreams.
A little later, a gentle winking movement of stars
arrives below an eyesight of music, an orchestra
led by darkness elates the glitter. Suddenly, a
witness sees awe in wonder, a golden glistening
moon starts to speckle the soul.
Tomorrow sleeps in a moving bed of brine. It’s new
slumber is older than sea horses, wiser beyond all
gritty grains of sand. Doing what it has always done,
it hushes morning darkness with lullabies, awakens
day gently by lifting the dawn.
