NAPKIN WORDS #58 2010
1. PATHS OF LIFE
Up.
Down.
Here.
There.
Never a signpost of exactly where!
2. YELLOW LIGHT
Where you interrupt gently, while others
rush on!
3. THINKING TIMETABLE
To accept tomorrow today, instead of
demanding to know what happens both
before and afterwards!
4. QUESTION
If night is the possibility of wisdom, is it
light that does the shining?
5. ARGUMENT
A fool’s paradise of words.
AGREEMENT
Words without the fool!
6. AN EDUCATION
Normalcy is the companion of absurdity.
How else would we understand if not by
comparison?
7. SETTING IT LOOSE
A wish is a bit like a bright red helium
balloon, seen floating, high against a clear
blue sky.
That is the time of its greatest beauty. It is
the time when so many wishes, of so many
others, can attach themselves to a floating
hope of beauty.
It is not when it is fastened to something, or held
down, unable to offer it’s kindness as a glue of
hope by others!
8. WINTER SMILE
Night particles
melted silently,
wetting streets to
dawn’s might of
beauty.
Brushing aside all
possible sorrows,
tomorrow awoke with
smiles of light.
REWRITE
Today I rewrote four
poems,
giving substance to
that which was missing:
Else why write about
pain
of the mind?
Poetry is a headache
that no aspirin
cures.
Proving that sickness
writes the
very
first poem.
