NAPKIN WORDS #8 2010

1. ESCAPING
Words have wings.

All a writer does is open their cage
so they are allowed to fly!

2. THE ONWARD TRUTH
As long as you live, continue to search
for the best you can be.

Only then might you fail to discover failure!

3. GLIDING
I am with time, not against time.

I allow it to stretch with me.

Knowing, it will not stop because of me!

4. HAPPENING
If it can happen, it will happen.

What you must engineer, if that happening
is a negative, is to try to insure that it does
not happen over and over.

Can you stop a negative from happening?
No, absolutely not. Yet you can limit them.

How? By selecting the way you wish to live!

5. ACHIEVEMENT
Success is the outburst of joy when your
first child gets married. That soft shedding
of tears when your first grandchild is born!

6. HEALING
To be born blind or deaf, is a tragedy.

To be born evil is the worse curse of all.

To be born inquisitive and happy is a blessing.

A wondrous cure for ugly wishes of ills which
others might speak!

7. KNOWLEDGE FEEDING
Wisdom must be well fed on a daily basis.

It should never be left hungry for weeks
at-a-time.

8. THE TRUE VALUE OF WISHES & PRAYERS
What I wished for or prayed for, has had little
importance other than guiding me towards what
I became in life.

Such is the reason I still make wishes, still say my
prayers.

For as long as I have breathe, there is still work to
be done to make me wiser, become more humane!

CREATING OF ME

Loudly, in deepest parts of my soul, I am like
Dylan the poet, prior your meeting Mr. Thomas
through his many magnificent, magical works
of the written word.

I heard him once, thanks to an ancient kindness
of a wondrous mentor, Mr. George Goetischus,
who ran a settlement house in lower Manhattan.
He generously taught an orphaned, dyslexic child,
how huge the mind if it is understood.

I heard Dylan speak in the early 1950’s. Because of
that event, my life was ever changed.

It wisely taught me to believe strongly in a positive me.

Some might learn of my life’s enchantment with that
blessing called words.

Thanks to Dylan, a kindness, a magic of time.
