NAPKIN WORDS #86 2010
1. IT IS UP TO YOU
Each and every dream has an awakening!
2. ONLY YOU
It is up to you, and only you, to prove these
classic statement to be false:
“Everything has its price.”
“Everything is for sale.”
Don’t ever surrender your integrity, nor offer
to sell your own self-truths!
3. WHO ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT
If ever you are asked to describe who you are, do
so in as few words as possible. This is so much
kinder to the one who asked, than using many
words to describe the same person!
4. WE
We must be slaves to our courtesies, and rulers of
our fate!
5. KINDNESS
Only when you listen, will you hear it.
Meanness shouts, kindness whispers!
6. NATURE AND ANGER
A storm is just a breeze or a whisper gone astray!
7. IF YOU MUST
Never let time argue about who you are. You and
you alone know who you are.
Still, if time wishes to speak, then listen!
At the end of your time, it might very well be
the wisest thing you ever heard!
8. MY ONE BELIEF
Based on my experience in life, as well
as a great deal of reading about others,
and their experiences in life, it is my belief
that life is a constant struggle for all,
regardless of whether rich or poor. Or else
why would all history books be filled with so
many tales of the rich becoming suddenly poor,
and the poor suddenly becoming rich?
It is because of this belief that history does
indeed tell true stories, that I have attempted
through my words, to ease, as well as understand
this constant struggle.
Here, at least for me, there is no success or failure!
CYCLES OF A NEW YEAR
Paths to next year start in memories blessed by
success of another year passed.
Our hearts minister reminders of so many arrivals,
optimism, reasons to shout our glee at an arriving
New Year.
For with all its mystery, we are wiser by its arrival.
Less afraid because of what passed. Assured of our
achievements, while calmly remaining ever expectant.
We know by every neuron of tissue, this year, we will
touch heaven's success, close forever roadways of failure.
We will plant all our children, those now and to be, in miraculous gardens created of love. Every field of their lives shall be overflowing with hope. For you, I, all other elders, will eternally water their passionate soil with nutrients of love.
Such shall be our purpose. To become sustenance, causing beauty, enriching their existence. Knowing laughter of young lives, raising keepsake flowers bursting in air with scents of joy.
Gardens of whom we are, watching buds of those now ripening. For love always passes as cycles, departing an old year, then developing the new.
